ok guys and gals i just went over to the local pick-ur-part and got an airflow meter from a 1988 325i (083) i installed it in my 1990 325i (091) is it gonna be ok cuz this morning i started the car and it had a hard time staying on. but after a while once the car warmed up it was fine. should i look for another 091 or am i ok?

It should be ok if it is coming from another "i" or "is" spec 325 car. I've swapped out similar ones on a friends' E30 (his was an '87 325is, mine is a '91 325i) for testing purposes and it worked fine. The only advice I can offer - having gone through a few AFMs recently - is to check it over thoroughly and perhaps clean the passage where the air travels, including the spring loaded flap, to ensure it is functioning properly. Mine was acting up so I took some MAF aerosol cleaner and cleared away the film of oily residue from within.....made a noticable improvement.
