i have some questions for the e30 gurus. i have the seta engine, are the pistons in my engine higher comp. than a regular eta? if this is true then the eta to i head swap should make good power. or more than the regular eta anyway, right. i have read on here the seta may respond better to this mod than the normal eta. is this true? i understand that the seta has the same head casting as the i but different internals so it is not safe to rev as high. let me know if im off base

nope.
you already have an "i" head, it just has the eta cam and single valve springs. your compression ratio is 8.5:1. the easiest upgrade would be i cam, double valve springs, and the intake/electronics from the i. the bottom end will rev just fine, it's the eta cam and intake that are no good above ~5300rpm.

just get all the i stuff - you can put that cam in your head (make sure all 7 cam bearings are drilled, some seta heads only have 4 of them). you'll want double valve springs and new rockers too. I don't think you even have to switch harnesses, you might just need a 173 ECU - the sensors should all be the same, except for the AFM. you'll want high impedance injectors for the 173 ecu (basically any ford 19# being sold out there).
