Car idles just fine, but has been misfiring under power. New plugs were put in not to long ago. P.O. ran some Sea Foam through it, the car ran better for a while but the problem came back.

There's a number of things this could be. The order in which I'd attack the problem would be:
1) If aged, replace the ignition wires, distributor cap & rotor.
2) Adjust the valves is that hasn't been done in 10k
3) Search for and fix any intake leaks
4) replace the O2 sensor if older than 100k miles
5) Replace the fuel filter
6) Check fuel pressure and delivery & repair if indicated
7) Check the AFM for proper operation & replace if indicated
8) Pull, clean, and test the injectors, replacing injectors as neededThe car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

I had this problem when a injector was stuck in the open position. if you are experiencing any smoke when you are parked and u floor it then let off you might want to take your intake off and inspect your injectors. also check your spark plugs for excess fuel.
