    Got my e30 today!

Hey guys i have been lurking this forum for a year or so, and i just picked up my 89 325is today. Man i love this car. My main thing with this car is i want to start auto-x. So i want some perf mods that will make it quick. im not looking for top speed. So can i have some recommendations on where to get and how much are chips, headers, diff, injectors, exhaust. I have 1500 to start. And also any wheel tire combinations that you guys recommend? thanks for everything.

The best (and most productive) way to make the car quicker is development of the driver's skills, followed by a better suspension, followed by better tires, in that order. If you have trouble believing that, conn an expert into driving your car and see how much faster they are...
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

The way to speed the process up is to invest that $1500 in as much track time as you can manage.

make sure the wear items are replaced and freshen up the brake system.

AGREED! ESPECIALLY if you're doing an HPDE.

buy a good helmet, redo your brakes, take care of all maintenance items, replace worn out parts, and if you have money left over look for some tires. I would also highly reccomend a CG-Lock (helps keep you in the seat with the stock seatbelt, cheap and effective).

you don't really need wheels, unless yours are bent or something - the stock 14" basketweaves are very light and you can fit some fairly wide rubber on them. to start i'd reccomend a set of Falken Azenis RT615 in 195/60-14. Otherwise - if your tires are fine, don't miss an autox because you think you need to upgrade them first.

start with the car stock and then upgrade where you feel the car is holding you back - buying random "upgrades" for your car and then finding out later that they aren't what you wanted isn't very much fun.
