 Man I have to say this is probably the most amazing improvement possible to a lowly ETA motor. All I can say is WOW!!! :D :D I haven't got all the minor wiring finished yet, so I haven't bounced it off the r3vlimiter yet.
The specs are: '87 325es bottom end - not sure of actual mileage because it already had an "is" cluster in it w/ broken odometer gears, '88 I harness, "I" top end, "I" AFM, "I" toothed crank pulley, and such. Also, I used "metric blues" to hod down the head, I torqued them to 85 ft-lbs.
Contrary to popular beliefs the "e" bottom & pistons with the "i" top end makes the car very much movable. :) Lets see I can pull from 70-100 in a matter of seconds not minutes, which is what it took before swap.
I would've swapped pistons, but I plan on going with some boost in the near future. So far the swap will hold me over until that day.
P.S. - Oh also, I like both BavAuto & Pelican, I have purchased head gaskets from both places and the one I got from Pelican. Which is a Goetze (sp?) is by far a better gasket. It is sturdier looking/feeling, just looks like a better gasket.
