    Crank and piston install.

Is it possible to install a set of pistons and a crank without pulling the head, going through the bottom? And if pulling the head is necessary is the old head gasket reusable?

I would just pull the head and go at it from the top. I personally wouldn't reuse a head gasket, you can get them from PelicanParts.com for about $20 iirc. You'll need new head bolts also, old ones are a one time deal. Also, from the engines I've seen internally there is less stuff to possibly damage on the top of the block. Hope I've helped.

I thought the head gasket was like $100. I am probably wrong as i never actually looked into it. I ask these questions because i am starting to piece together my stroker kit.

On BavAuto the whole to end gasket set is about $85. It includes gaskets for the intake, head, exhaust, various small gaskets, valve cover. So if the gaskets on those parts are old/original then maybe that is what you should buy. So with new head bolts your looking at around $100 or so plus little other thing you might need. Since you are looking to build a stroker, you might want to grab some "metric blues" for head bolts.

What size/type stroker are you looking to build?

2.7, seta pistons and eta crank. budget build with possible boost in the future.

I'm on BMA right now and between rings, mains, rod bearings, and head gasket w/ bolts I'm at like $350
