    Hesitation/bogging until car warms up

'85 325e, MarkD chip, everything else stock

When the car is cold it runs just fine for the first block or two then it starts to bog at about 2500rpm and I slowly lose speed. The only way to get power is to lift off the gas pedal and push it in again and it "catches" at a particular point at lets me accelerate but I need to keep doing that until the car warms up, then it drives just fine. I also smell gasoline as I'm driving, but that's been the case for the past couple weeks.

This problem didn't come up until yesterday when I tried to replace my o2 sensor (couldn't get it out...) but I did replace the tranny mounts.

Please help me, I'm so frustrated :(

Sounds like it's running rich and if you need a new 02 sensor, that's why.

You've already answered your own question...........

Put pb blaster on the threads to help loosen the o2 sensor.

I did that and I let it sit for an hour or so since that was all the time I had. Next time I try this I'll let it soak for a lot longer...

          coolant temp sensor

the O2 sensor doesn't provide feedback until the car is warmed up.

great, but it looks like there are a few different sensors on the car that do this. Can you narrow it down a little?

            thanks

some more info I forgot to mention: when I have this problem, it revs just fine when I push the clutch in. It will rev all the way to the rev limiter with the clutch in, but not while it's in gear.
