    oil cooler retrofit

hey so the other night my oil cooler fell off and ripped apart the Q I have is there a way to retrofit my car without an oil cooler without getting a whole new oil filter housing? can I splice the oil lines that come off of the housing and splice them together with a compression fitting or something like that. I'm doing a 5 speed swap and thats my down fall right now if I can't get that fixed in time for work monday.

u can do that. however, i did a 5 speed swap about a month ago, and ive been thinking of using the trans oil cooler as the engine oil cooler. which would give me room for a front mount..... more to come.

so what have people done to there engine oil cooler to get rid of it? can you plug the oil lines? or is that part of the flow of oil to the engine?

I believe you can plug them right at the filter housing and not worry about it. But I'd run a short u-shaped line instead, just in case.

^papajetta, I've never thought of running the engine oil through the trans cooler/rad, but that's an interesting idea. Le tme know if it works out for you, I'm doing a swap soon too.

If you dont want a oil cooler use an eta oil filter housing, eta's dont come with oil coolers.
