i got a performance chip from ebay about 2 years ago, and never noticed any noticable difference, do you think i would benefit from a Mark d chip, i think ebay chips only work at full throttle anyway. or do chips just not make any differences.

If they said the chip "only works at full throttle", you probably have a Dinan chip copy. Dinan chips only work at full throttle. Dinan chips are also universally considered to be the least effective of all the e30 performance chips.
You would see an improvement by buying a MarkD chip. It is a superior chip. Whether that extra ~4hp and throttle response is worth the $220 purchase cost and extra 93 octane gas cost, is up to you.
I am personally of the opinion that that money that could be frittered away on bolt-on mods should be saved up and put into a real power adding project, like turbo or motor swap. Or hell, invest in a Roth IRA and stop dumping money into your worthless shitbox.

Steve Dinan's chips are pretty good all around, not too destructive either.
You will noticeably better throttle response, a little better bottom end and probably better fuel economy.
I wouldn't recomend an eBay ripped chip to anyone though.Comment
