    c104 and other wiring.

    I am putting the m20 from my 87 325i into a 89 320i. I am using the 87 wiring loom for the engine, which has the rectangular connector which I will rewire to the c101. But my loom has the c104 connector coming of it, and he 89 body does not have it. So basically I just need to know what to wire the c104 to in the 89 body? I know it goes to the c101 I think? Which pins and which wires to where?

    for one you should use the 89 harness and 173 ecu for your m20 it is way more updated and better quality but if you still want to go your way here is a link with the info you need.







    I thought they stopped using the square connection in 85?

      PO changed the engine in it to an 85 320i engine since the original one was screwed, Guess they changed the entire loom in the car since this 325i has alot of under the dash hack jobs and rewiring like you wouldn't believe.. All I need is to know which C101 pins I need to wire my C104 pins to?

      I would use the 89 loom but it seems to have all these different connections so I cannot be bothered with it.

      AFAIK, it is using a jetronic ECU.

        what you want to do is take all of the 89 sensors and put them on the 2.7 so that you can connect the 1.1M harness which is way more advanced and updated, I promise you will have way less problems and also if you put the jetronic harness in the 89 you will have to also put he jetronic transmission in which has the reference sensors on it i believe.

        do you have any pictures of both cars?

        if nothing go and get an 88-92 1.1/1.3 harness sensors and if you can all of the i parts then you will have a 2.7i and will really love your e30 then

          I have the tranny from my car anyway. Basically I am doing this because my 325i body has frontal impact damage and is pretty f'd inside and out.

          It is a 2.0l btw, not 2.7l. And I bought the 320i 89 as a rolling body, it had the engine and tranny removed, But still had radiator and exhaust and loom/ecu etc. I don't want to bother with getting all the sensors and putting them everywere.

            Can anyone confirm if this is correct?

            Pin # 3 from c104 to Pin 8 on the c101 of your 89(Yellow/White or White/Black wire)
            Pin #2 from the c104 to the + terminal on the coil(Green wire)
            Pin #1 from the c104 to pin 9 on the c101(black wire)
