    m20 vs. s52

hey guys. im trying to do something with my car but i really cant decide. in the long run what would be a better idea to do. budget isnt really a problem for me but im not looking to spend 40 grand on it. i was kinda leaning to keeping the m20.. can somebody give me some advice?

Really no more work then yanking the m20 that is already there to build it for FI. With this website, a pair of e30/e36 Bentley's, it's no harder then dealing with whats there now.

keep the m20 if you don't mind yearly maintenance, engine noise and 12V,,, and put the S52 if you want quiet worry free 200+hp reliability( may take some extra time but you willllll not regret it)

If you want the most out of FI definitely go s52.

Only other option is the stroke the m20 then turbo it.

My last m20 motor had 286K before i sold the car and was 100% reliable and worry free.

To answer the question at hand. I would rebuild the m20 and buy a stage 2 turbo kit from TCD for 5 grand. Its a boxy, rough on the edges old bimmer... a noisy turbo m20 will be perfect.

yeah thats what i think i am going to do. i love the sound of m20 engines idk why people like quiet cars. unless your talking about like a luxury cars then thats a different story. e30s are old fast sports cars there so post to be noisy
