    oil sender p/n

so ive had my car for 3 months'ish, bought it from a guy in FL, its an '84e w/an '89 I motor, thing runs like a raped ape!!!

but i drove to GA last weekend for a waterski tournament, i get home an the damn thing is leaking oil...not much, but if i sit and let it idle it will just steady drip, no clue what its doing or how much its leaking while driving, but ive been religiously checking the oil all week...

so last night i trace it to what i think is either the oil pressure sender/sensor, or oil temp sender/sensor...located on the passengers side of the block just above the oil pan...

the plastic seems to be cracked and i venture to guess this is where its leaking...it has a single wire running to it...my buddy has an '87i, and his has the plastic connector

just curious if anyone has the part number for that thing, or if it is a BMW only part or if a std autozone one would work?

    thanks tons!

    cheers!

Don't have the actual part number you are looking for, but the '89 325i motor has just one oil pressure sensor and it's a cheap part. Uncertain if AutoZone would have it or not - just tell the parts person your motor is newer than your car. I certainly wouldn't go to the dealer, they will charge a premium. Here's the part you need available from a couple of popular online discount parts vendors. Either one can get your order processed and the part to you in pretty short order if fixing this issue can wait a few days.
