alright i just did a valve adjustment (engine just hit ~25k-30k), first time ive ever done one, and in general i dont like taking of the valve cover cause i always screw something up whether its just over tightening one of the retaining nuts and stripping the threads in the head or something else. so i did it the first time yesterday having only read the bentley and i started it and it was running strange, to me it seemed like a cylinder wasnt firing, so i checked the ignition system up to the plugs (i used a spare plug to check for spark on each cylinder) and all was fine. so today i went at it again after reading the pelican article as well as a large number of search results from r3v, i came to the conclusion that i had adjusted the valves too tight. so after getting it to where the feeler gauge was able to move around fairly easily with a bit of friction from both the eccentric and the valve i buttoned everything up again. started it up and same problem.
the video is being a pain in the ass
on the video (ive only watched it on my phone, for some reason the audio didnt play on my computer) it sounds alot like a diesel not so much with valve tick but more in the way the engine revs. i still think it isnt running on all cylinders, i may have put the spark plug wires back on wrong, my magnecors arent numbered, is there a test i can do without having to take the case back apart?
