    Confirm wiring for c101?

I am moving my early model m20b20 engine from a 85 body (damaged) to a mint 89 body.

Only problem left is wiring. My early model engine has the rectangle C101 connector, with the c104 plug by the ECU.

The 89 has the round c101 and no c104. So after alot of research, I have found this:

Pin On Round Connector >> Pin On Rectangle Connector
    1 >> 1
    2 >> 2
    3 >> 3 (not used at all)
    4 >> 4
    5 >> 16
    6 >> 6
    7 >> 10
    8 >> Not used
9 >> Speed signal (run wire to C104 in glovebox (black wire))
    10>> 15
    11>> 17
    12>> Not Used
    13>> 7
    14>> Not Used
    15>> Not Used
    16>> 11
    17>> Not Used
    18>> 8
    19>> Not Used
20>> Run to a good ground

Is this the correct wiring I will need to do, to plug my engines loom to the fuse box (going to wire the round c101 connector from the 89's loom to my 85's loom).

You should use the 89 harness with your 85 M20 and all 1.1/1.3Motronic sensors and ecu It should run maby rich if you use an i computer but if nothing someone could make you a chip for your 2.0 using 1.1/.1.3M

The plugs and sensors are all different though. The 89 is engineless, I bought it without an engine or tranny. + I have already cut up the loom and sold plugs, and have the round C101 cut off and wires all numbered.

          mostly it's all good but
pin 8 on round needs to run to yellow/white wire on the c104 plug(fuel rate output function)
and pin 20 on the round plug is 12-volt power to the ABS system, not a ground

I don't think my car has ABS, So should I just cap this wire off?

And yeah I know about the c104, I just copied and pasted that quick diagram from someone else who posted it here that is banned so couldn't ask them.

Thanks for the input though guys.

frantic, I know this is a month or so late, but i just went through all of this with my car, only the other way around: M42 -> '85 325e

I'm still working out the little stuff, but when I did the conversion from rectangle to round, it was about color-for-color, although I matched function-to-function. The two wires I just added today, were the black wire (tach signal) from the round plug to the C104, as well as the yellow/white at round to yellow/white at C104. I had issues with the FPrelay ground signal from the DME (BR/GN).. I ended up cutting it, and grounding that wire, relay-side.. Problem is, FP runs when the key is in the RUN position, constantly.
