    M20 afm swapp fro m30

I heard good and bad things about running m30 afm on a m20. Can we please clear up the waters on this anyone has this set up run properly. Also anyone makes a chip designed for running m30 afm and larger injectors on a m20?

My friend and I both run the m30 AFM and 19lb injectors. I love it. As long as you have the right AFM you should have no problems getting it to work correctly. A lot of people say it make your car run rich but that's bs because the 027 PN M30 AFM has the exact same internala as a stock i motor AFM just in a bigger housing.

I see no problem running them as long as they are the correct part number.

Oh and Mark D makes a chip for the 19lbers it not for the combo. I tried contacting him about it but he never returned my call or email.

Hey Taylor, did you guys have to do the whole "teach your ecu" thing with a fuel pressure regulator?

There is no reason to do that. Like I said, the brains of the 027 M30 AFM are exactly the same as the stock m20 AFM. The ECU will be fine. Now with the 19lb injectors, the car ran a bit rough for a while and then it was good and strong.

That may be a little large for the M30 AFM only because they are formatted for 19lb injectors from an M30.

Which 5.0 did you get those injectors out of? Fox body?

it was from an old Lincoln, the yellow tops, bosch injectors. Looked brand new, so i swiped them while I could.

I also have an option to swipe SHO injectors, but not sure how they are rated.

Any one have that chart for Bosch injectors by colors?

I think that would be a great chart if someone could find it.

What color again? Were they actually yellow or were they orange?

I've never heard of a 5.0 Ford motor come with anything but 19lb injectors

Well I figured there are probably other injectors with like lemon yellow tops that had a different flow rate so I wanted it to be clear that the 19lbers are the orange tops.

I am running an 027 AFM from an 86 535i, 17.5lb injectors from an M50 and the Mark D 17/19lb chip. The car runs hella rich when its cold but as soon as you're out of the blue it runs great. Idle is very lumpy when cold though. I'm pretty sure it runs pretty rich even when warm but pulls hard! i heard maybe playing with the spring inside the AFM? i'd like to get a wideband o2 and get it on the dyno then play with the spring. overall i'm happy with the mod.
