i did the m30 afm with the 19lb injectors and now my car will not start sometimes or just die randomly. for example today i was driving fifth gear at 50 just cruising and the engine just died... all the electrical in the car still worked but i had no rpm signal no matter what gear i put it in. finally i had slowed down enough i popped it into second gear and it started back up... and ideas?

You unplug the battery for at least 10-15 minutes and then the ECU or DME will go back to stock mapping and lose all historical codes.

Finally got around to fixing the problem. Cut out the C191 injector harness connector and resoldered all of the wires together and now she's running great. No stumbles at any point in the RPM range and it pulls a lot like I thought it should. This was a great install, minus the fact that I broke two of the wires that were a part of the injector harness (which I didn't know about and was the culprit to the problem). Thanks to everyone that helped with this.

Alright, tried re-connecting the C191 connector to ensure that it's done properly and it's acting even more odd now. It idles real hard, shaking the whole motor and it threw a 1251 code. If I move the connector while it's idling, it shutters and sometimes completely dies. That being said, is there anyway to "rebuild" that connector?

Hey, i got your PM. Let me know how this works out.
The C191 is prone to corrosion. Hope that's all it is.

Just did a once-over on everything that I touched during the install and the second I moved the C191 connector, the car damn near died. Moved it around again and it went back to a perfect idle. I may be on to something here...

Haven't yet, but figured that may be the culprit. I'll try it out and see what happens. Thanks

Anyone have any issues with the car cutting out at 3/4 to full throttle at around 3k to 4k RPM? Just did the install (027 M30 AFM and 19 lbers) and it idled like crap, took it out for a drive to let it "learn" and drove fine at 3/4 to full throttle in 1st and 2nd gear but when I shifted into 3rd and got up to 3500 rpm it felt like I hit a brick wall, like my fuel was being cut, and the check engine light came on. Backed off the throttle and then gave it 1/2 throttle and it was fine. Shifted into 4th and again gave it some gas and it did it again, cut out and simultaneously the check engine light came on. Backed off a little and it was fine again. What gives? Oh and it was barely holding an idle at only 500 rpm and occasionally jumps to 750 and idle like "normal". Just let it work itself out? Try resetting the ECU?

Thing is like I said that I drive around at 30 KPH or 18 MPH, that is the speed limit here. When it sounds like I am holding the RPM's too high in 2nd I shift to 3rd which is about 1K.

my car loves it. I'm prototyping a cold air intake similar to the gruppe m. Here is what the bracket looks like. Just need to finish molds for the filter housing.
