    m54 parts usefull for m20?

i have access to an m54 crank, 5 pistons and 5 rods(dont ask)
i am just curious as if these will be any benifit to my 2.7eta turbo which will someday down the road become a low compression stroker.

I'm not sure about the rods, but I know the crank is the same size as the S52 crank, 89.6mm stroke. You can create a 3.1L stroker with 86mm pistons. I'll be doing that shortly. People sometimes call them 3.2L, but it's not. FWIW, to get 3195 or 6cc you need an 87mm bore, way too big, IMO.

      -IF its a m54b30! m54b25's have the same bore/stroke as an m20b25

you can use the rods and the crank. pistons aren't going to do you much good though, not that a set of 5 rods is very helpful..

            also - the rule of rounding, generally, means a 3150cc engine is considered 3.2l, but 3149 would be 3.1. It's not 3195 - not that you'd get that with an M20. 3.2l would need 86.4x89.6 (3152cc), not 87x89.6. 86x89.6 is 3122, not quite a 3.2, but still larger than a "typical" 3.1.
