    11:1 compression

has anyone run 11.1 compression on an 85mm bore 2.8 sroker?
Would 93 oct be adequate octane with this CR?
Would Megasquirt be a good idea to modify ignition advance on an M20 with this high compression?
What cam choice would be good on this track car? currently I am leaning toward a 288 schrick...
Thanks in advance for your help

Metric Mechanic runs 11 to 1 on their rally engines ,check out their site and call them up , they are really nice folks and would answer any questions you ask them , I would say 11 to 1 is about as high as you could go on pump gas though.

I would reccomend something more agressive than the 288 for 11:1, schrick cams are actually pretty mild - it would be better suited to 10:1. I've always drooled over the dbilas 293, personally. :p

Thanks for your reply...I have heard that you can use a hotter cam also if you have a stroker...I have an "E" block, 81mm "E" crank, 135mm Chromoly Eagle rods and custom 11;1 85mm forged CP pistons from VAC...Is there a US distributor for dbilas products so I can get some lift specs? I love their ITBs for the m20 they make

Thanks for the input...I have been talking to Teddy and Jim regularly now (Metric Mechanic) about the race car(w/M20) and a turbo S14 M3 we are currently building...You're right Super nice guys and Super helpful...although I wanted to tap into some more opinions/experience on this board because in theory I do not see any problem running 11:1 but as we all know prctise can be alot different I am more used to tuning more modern 4g63 turbo engines so this project is all new to me.
