now the problem with the dings is that you now have sharp points of metal that will heat up and not be dissipated through the rest of the head, you can very well end up with predetanation knocks.

i would not use it, or even take the time to get it tested.

I wouldn't use that head for the reasons madhatter stated. those pits are going to cause hots pots and collect carbon deposits. it will also probably affect your quench area - all of these things are highly critical to a turbo car.

you can get a core M20 head for around $200. a gasket set is like $100, so you won't be saving any money when something goes wrong and you have to replace the head anyway.
