    white smoke

    this all pertains to a 1984 325e...stock everything...no chip...177K miles

after a rusty exhaust incident on the highway i recently i had a new exhaust welded on...no cat just 2.25 inch straight back to a dynomax

under deceleration lots of white smoke comes pouring out but only when the revs are really high up and theres a good amount of back pressure...i have no overheating problems and when im driving theres no white smoke

is this just extra unburnt fuel from running a little rich without a cat or is it coolant? my coolant levels seem fine

my mpg did go down slightly after the exhaust

anyone have this problem?? think it could be the valve seals? i dont know if im getting blow by the rings...

White smoke is vaporized coolant, so it sounds like you have a leaking head gasket.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

i thought if it was the head gasket there would be constant white smoke

not just white smoke after deceleration

The no cat has nothing to do with it.

Sounds like the rings though. But then it would be more of a blue smoke.

Over fueling would be black, carbon rich smoke. iirc.

Definitely sounds like something wrong with your fuel system.
