true, the 4 door and the 2 door are the same wheel base. 101.something". i just recently did a 5 speed swap and the donor car was a 2 door and my car is a 4 door, evrerything was the same.Originally posted by FerdinandI carry a cheap pressure gauge in my glovebox with which to manually check my tire pressures, but I keep forgetting that in the USA glovebox space is sacred as it is reserved exclusively for the purpose of storing handguns.

it is the thing between the drive shaft and the transmissionOriginally posted by FerdinandI carry a cheap pressure gauge in my glovebox with which to manually check my tire pressures, but I keep forgetting that in the USA glovebox space is sacred as it is reserved exclusively for the purpose of storing handguns.

oh yea they are the same sizes are there longer ones? cause seriously when i bolt the csb up the front half of the drive shaft sits about a inch and a half away from the flexdisk so when i pull it closer to bolt it up my csb is angled and it eventually wears and breakssigpic

well normally the drive shafts are the same between the cars(eg 2 door 325 and 4 door 325). so im guessing that the transmission is different. or the motor mounts might be different.Originally posted by FerdinandI carry a cheap pressure gauge in my glovebox with which to manually check my tire pressures, but I keep forgetting that in the USA glovebox space is sacred as it is reserved exclusively for the purpose of storing handguns.

Yeah the early 318i's came with m10 motors. The later came with m42 motors. That's why I'm thinking the tranny may be different. One may be for the 4cyl motors and the 260 getrag for the 6cyl cars.
