    so this happened when i was driving 56k die

    broke a timing belt this is what happened to the piston can i get away with just throwing a head on this and calling it a day?

      Looks fine. Take off sharp edges and run it. Nice ping marks in the pistons, too. Better fix that...

        Ya might as well throw a ported head on there!!!

        Sucks that you broke the timing belt I allways replace the timing belt when I buy a m20!

        Lesson learned.

        And if it was me I would clean all carbon off of those pistons!

          i was planning on doing but i only had the car for 2 weeks so i'm pretty pissed

          not ping marks but i thought that too its coolant that dripped from the head haha

          no porting for now i'm on a tight buget with school and x-mas

            definenatly cheaper, and easier than getting a new motor. Hey now you can help me with my clutch!

                            the piston at TDC or near so the rod is straight down to the crank that would serious force to bow a rod like that

                              rotate the bottem end a few times (by hand or starter) to make sure all is well down there

                              clean the pistons, slap on a good used head, get NEW head bolts, tb, wp, etc.
