    it will still run without the pulse generator. It's purpose is to attempt to fire the two banks of injectors relative to the crank rotation. Without it basically fires them randomly (in regards to crank degrees). You won't notice any loss in power, but possibly a decrease in idle quality and fuel economy.

      would an 88/89 m20 motor not have that? its weird. because i just put everything back together last night (HG+Timing belt) and i have no spare/missing connectors...

            it should be right under the round diagnostics plug, next to the crank sensor plug. they're both 3 pin connectors.

              yeah, the cps is plugged in, but i dont know what the other plug goes to. and i just put the intake boot back on, dammit.
