I've got an all stock 325e. I'd like to swap the head and intake to one from an 325is, plus hotter cam. My ecu is rev limited to 4750 because of the 4 bearing cam and soft valve springs. With the new head (7 bearing cam, performace valve springs) I'll need to rev alot higher to make power. What all would need to be done with the ecu? Is the 325is ecu harness the same as the 325e? If not can I repin it?

What year 325e? Early ETA cars have the timing reference sensors mounted in the bell housing but all 325i/is cars and SuperETA's have the timing reference sensor mount on the front of the engine. If yours is the variant with the bell housing mounted timing reference sensors that would have to change to be able to use the DME & harness from a 325i/is.The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.
