    Torque Converter?

I have an auto 325e that needed a new transmission. The transmission was just recently replaced, and the car ran fine, until one day I tried to drive it and it struggled to move. I had to floor it, just to go at idle speed. I turned around and headed toward my driveway, I checked the temps, normal, everything was fine. All of the sudden, a ton of white smoke blew out of my hood and there was white smoke everywhere. I checked the temps, normal again. I put in neutral and pushed it up the driveway, I was only a couple feet away. The first thing that came to my mind was a blown head gasket. the car starts, and runs, but still will barely move if you give it gas. I was wondering if it was a torque converter and if I should swap a trans and motor from another e30?

Might it be possible that you blew one of the transmission cooling lines? A loss of fluid could explain both events.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

It sounds like maybe the transmission is slipping? Check all your fluids, and check for leaks. If nothing looks out of the ordinary, take it back to the shop that performed the tranny replacement and have them take a look.

        Thanks for all your replies.
The transmission was done by my father, I was at school. If i blew one of the tranny cooling lines, would the tranny be shot, and i would need a new one?
I have a friend with a wrecked e30 and his motor has only 60k miles on it and the tranny as well. I was wondering if it would save a lot of headaches to just pick up the whole car for $500 and swap what i need?
        Thanks.
