I have an auto 325e that needed a new transmission. The transmission was just recently replaced, and the car ran fine, until one day I tried to drive it and it struggled to move. I had to floor it, just to go at idle speed. I turned around and headed toward my driveway, I checked the temps, normal, everything was fine. All of the sudden, a ton of white smoke blew out of my hood and there was white smoke everywhere. I checked the temps, normal again. I put in neutral and pushed it up the driveway, I was only a couple feet away. The first thing that came to my mind was a blown head gasket. the car starts, and runs, but still will barely move if you give it gas. I was wondering if it was a torque converter and if I should swap a trans and motor from another e30?

Thanks for all your replies.
The transmission was done by my father, I was at school. If i blew one of the tranny cooling lines, would the tranny be shot, and i would need a new one?
I have a friend with a wrecked e30 and his motor has only 60k miles on it and the tranny as well. I was wondering if it would save a lot of headaches to just pick up the whole car for $500 and swap what i need?
Thanks.
