I sent my 885 head in to get resurface. Finally getting it back. I was just thinking about when I put it back together do I need to loosen all the obsentrics to get the rocker arms past the valves? Then Which ones do I have to adjust before I put the head back on? I don't have my book with me.

I live here but I am From Cali. Actually essentric is the right name and I have not heard it called anything else on here or anywhere else. It is number 9. You loosen THe nut holdint it and turn this with a allen or something to adjust the valves.

there's no reason a valve adjustment can't happen with the head off the car. but that would mean a workbench, the proper spacers to keep the valves from contacting your work surface as you rotate the cam. Then you'll just make sure the head is at TDC to match the block before putting the head on the block.
On second thought, just loosen all the eccentrics and do the adjustment AFTER you hook up the timing belt and can turn the cam and crank at the same time.Keith
