I just got 325is with 160k on it and i am curious the type of mileage i can expect out of these motors. Please let me know. Thanks

My 87 325is is right about 280,000 and sees redline several times every day.

The GFs '89 325i is 140,00ish and runs sweet.

I am a BMW technician (since about 1980) I have seen many m20s go well past 250K with good maintenance.

I have seen quite a few go beyond 350 as well.

and one or two past half a million.

      Maintenance is key here.

That kicks ASS... Good looks like with a major TUNE UP --Ill be in good shape. Even when it idled like shit it still was pretty fast through all the gears and i know atleast 35-30% of its power is not being used..

The car has dinan exhaust, intake and a chip. What other horsepower mods can be done, headers?

There are Ford forums you know... Next time try answering with something useful.

                I guess my M20 was short-lived, I popped a rocker at 265k miles @ 7100 RPM...

                        270k
                        170k
                        150k

I think it's safe to assume that in an enthusiast environment like this, these cars could run for a LONGGG time just because we don't necessarily think that taking apart an engine to "freshen it up" is a bad thing. That and suspension rebuilds add life to a car like no other.
