    crank sensor plug location.

I know where the plug is under the Diagnostic test port. but which connection to the body harness, the plug farthest away or the closest to the driver side fender.. I missing the Pulse sensor so that why I have the question.

PS car still doesnt run when I put it in either connection.

just want to make sure which one is for sure the right one!

It the engine has no spark when the CPS is plugged into either position. the possibilities are:

    1) The CPS is bad
    2) The DME isn't powered up
    3) The DME is bad
    4) The wiring harness is bad

Pins 47 & 48 at the DME connector are the CPS. So a bit of work with an ohmmeter will tell you which connector is for the CPS.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

was the car originally a 318is?.....If so it may be more to do with wiring differences...This link has no pics anymore but may help

If you look at th engine from the front of the car the pulse sensor goes in the passenger side hole and the cps in the drivers side

do you have a Pin out on the dme connector? or which pins should I look for power/ohms/ect to rule out the wiring harness. Im really not looking forward to changing that out.

The DME ground comes out of the engine harness and attaches to the right side strut tower.
