Fuel Pressure, with a stroker build

I am running a new, oe fpr, with green m50 injectors, on a freshly stroked m20. I also replaced the entire gastank, ffilter, and pump. Now, when running the motor north of 5500-6000 RPM, I am getting my check engine light to come on, while in that RPM. This is the Lambda code #1222, excessively rich/lean for 10 seconds or longer. Fuel pressure is about 43 psi . at idle. I see that when removing the vaccuum line from the intake manifold, and plugging the nipple on the intake manifold, it no longer produced a check engine light anymore.

Should I just go for the gold and buy an adjustable FPR? Not letting any engine vaccuum to release the fuel pressure does seem to make the engine run happy, but it also seems to give it a harder start when the car is up to temperature.

you need a real tune. an adjustable FPR isn't going to make a permanent difference.
