    overheat light on check panel illuminates all the time

    hello,

    any thoughts on the matter? it stays on all the time from start-up till i shut it off.

    You mean the coolant light? if so just replace the sensor in your coolant tank, or make sure its connected, or check and make sure you have enough coolant. If the coolant sensor is missing the white floater on the end, then its time for a new one

        WOW!!! allways wondered what went in the last space of the check control panel!!!!!! now Im a little more E30 smart! sorry I dont help out but thats not a very common option on E30´s!

            That is the coolest light i hve ever seen. All my cars have had either o2, srs or seatbelt lights.

            BUT IM WILLING TO GUESS IT HAS SOMETHING TO DO WITH THE ACTUAL TEMP SENSOR FOR THE GAUGE.

              my e30 is a jap market '89 320i, probably why it is not common. fyiw, the temp gauge reading is normal.

                    my temp sender is working very good i tried last night to replace the coolant sensor nothing happened it's really bugging me.i tried to search but no answer mine is a 320i jap market. help help

                      any update? my fan switch was bad i replaced it but the light still there.but look at this pic of Japanese words i sent to a friend to translate if you guys can do it please tell me what it mean

                          ADEN, did you ever figure it out? One project has led to another and i still have not addressed the issue. My BMW ETM does not show this in the circuit as it is not a USA model.

                              sorry motorad but since we open a talk on Japanese market bmws i have a lot to say about. the overheat drove me crazy i search the world replaced the coolant temp sensor and temp fan switch and it's still on.i'll try to replace the engine if it'll turn it off.
