    My car is brokded, HELP!

Driving home last night I started to have some "chugging", so I stepped on the clutch and the motor died. Bump started it back to life, but then it did it again, repeatedly.

I limped it home, literally coasting into the driveway.

This morning, the damn thing started, ran for about 4 minutes, then sputtered and died.

I am gonna fix it tomorrow, but would love to see some suggestions and ideas.

So lets hear it...this is the 1st time this car has actually stranded me in years, but this time Jordan is not here to rescue me!

I'm thinking a fuel issue mebbe? Intermittent short in the fuel pump circuit?

Fuel filter? Could be all the new gas mixture cleaning your tanks and everything the gass touches.

I think it is eleectrical because the way it died is so suddenly, not like slow fule starvation...so I don't think this is pump/filter.

Besides, mine is only 5 years old, WTF?

            1.) Check fuel pump relay
            2.) Check ECU main relay
            3.) Measure fuel pressure.

This should give you a mountain of info that should make the decision of "where-to-go-next" easy.

                Main relay.

Fix'd, but in poking around I caused a vacuum leak.

Doh! Well, you probably needed a new hose there anyway.

I have now fixed like 4 cars with main relay issues.

You would think I would have thought of that first...

Now when you say fix, I'm assuming that you're replacing the relay no? If so where are you getting the replacements?

The relay is a standard configuration SPST relay: I used a Bosch.

These are typically used for foglights, as there are 2 N.O. contacts. I may re-wire using 2 separate relays just for S&G.
