    323i M20 Fuel Delivery Problem.

    Hey guys,

Just after abit of advice here. Have an M20 323i coupe here. It had low compression when I bought it. I changed the rings and big end bearings and it drove really well for about 2 months. Then it started to surge and cut out and the fuel pump started vibrating and eventually wouldn’t start up. I’ve replaced the fuel pump, the regulator and the relay. The fuel pump won’t shut off unless I pull the fuse if that makes sense.

Any help is highly appreciated just after some advice on what to do next.

    Thank you for your time.

    Arlo.

did you put the exact same relay in? The L-Jet relay is complex and some of them even have a priming circuit built into the relay. I have two from various 323i cars and both different.

If the old relay is stuffed the best bet might be to figure out how to run fuel pump off ignition using a generic automotive relay. Its not ideal but it will work in a pinch to check if everything else is working.

I cant recall if the L-jet ecu has a fuel pump output. I Dont think so. FYI My 323i fuel pump just used to run whenever the ignition was on.
