    Oil control rings bad?

Smokes blue like crazy but performance is still good, smoke gets worse when driving

Is it worse after idling for ages and taking off normally ?

Not really, seems like engine braking also produces alot of blue smoke on higher rpms

What’s the history of the engine ?

Smoke on high vacuum situations would be valve stem seals as a first port of call it’s alt easier to diagnose and rectify to. The low pressure produced in the inlet port with high rpm and closed throttle sucks oil from rocker cover down past valve guides into the engine. You can check back of inlet valves.

Checking exhaust valves is a bit harder and the conditions under which sucks oil is a bit different.

The smoke in the video seems to be when it’s loaded and it gets less as throttle is closed.

have you checked the valve cover breather ?

The engine is built quite heavily, m50 pistons, m21 crank, m52 rods, 885 ported cylinder head, piston rings and valve seals replaced 2000km ago. But this was all done by the last owner I bought it like this, and it smoked very little blue when I got it but now its got alot worse.
What do you mean by checking the breather? There is a bit of oil in the breather but not alot. How should I check the back of inlet valves, take off the intake manifold?

Bought compression tester today, 5 of the cylinders good compression and cyl #3 has 35psi. Yikes
