    Coolant hose replacement

Hello all, I am about to do my timing belt and water pump but I realized that I want to replace all my coolant hoses while I'm in there for piece of mind and just for preventative maintenance. It's surprisingly difficult to find a total replacement kit online. I was able to find a few but I'm not sure which route to go for a few reasons.

CA Tuned offers a kit :https://catuned.com/silicone-late-mo...se-kit-e30-m20
I like this kit because it has a bypass hose for the throttle body which I've already had to "ghetto rig", for lack of a better word, but I've heard things about CA Tuned that deter me from buying from them.

    ECS offers a kit :https://www.ecstuning.com/b-assemble...13541719967kt/
This kit looks promising since it looks to include all hoses but many of the hoses are URO and I've read nothing but bad things about their parts.

FCP Euro doesn't offer a kit that I can find. I would prefer to go with FCP Euro over the other since they have the lifetime replacement on their parts, but they don't have a kit available. I can just put in the work and try to find each part individually but I don't know if they offer every hose. Their selection seems slim but I've only done a quick 3 minute search.

Do any of you late model guys and gals have any feedback on these kits or suggestions on where to look? I really want to do this timing belt to have peace of mind but I want to use my time and effort wisely and replace related components while I'm in there.

This is the timing belt kit I ordered from FCP Euro :https://www.fcpeuro.com/products/bmw...x-325i-e30kit1

Identify all the individual components in the kit, check them on realoem.com, and search by the part numbers.

There is one really long hose for the M20 11531722743. It's pretty expensive. Find a website that sells a good replacement, or you'll have to order a genuine one.

there's a plethora of great online videos about the subject. timing belt changes are a good challenge but totally doable. take your time. take pics throughout. stay very organized. clean every part. good luck with it sent from hell using Tapatalk

The CAtuned kit is probably your best bet. I’ve heard lots of good things about silicone as a longer-lasting replacement for rubber on car parts (lasting 3-5x longer). I’m currently running silicone wiper blades on my E30 and they are the bees knees. Only issue I’ve heard with silicone is that clamping it is harder than rubber, not sure how true that is.

The ECS kit, judging by the pictures, contains some brittle-looking hoses (probably URO). Avoid that one.

if you want to stick to OEM/Genuine BMW hoses you’ll probably have to piece the kit together yourself

Thanks Vincenze, I forgot about realoem and how good of a resource they are. I’m definitely going to reference their information.

Cheffy yeah there definitely are a ton of videos and tutorials out there. I’ve done the job before on an early model e30 but this will be my first time on a late model. I’m sure a lot of it will be similar.

Thanks for the input ZeKahr, I’m definitely seriously considering them.
