    Check oil flow to crank

I'm wondering how I can check the oil flow to my crank.
I just had knock and found a spun bearing on cyl 5. Before I pulled the oil pan I checked the valve cover and it had good oil flow to the valves. I didn't have any low oil situations before. What could have caused the spun bearing?
How can I check that oil is making it to the crank? If the oil cooler was clogged I wouldn't be getting oil to the valves either right?

That is a good read. But almost all of those situations mean it wasn't getting oil. Could I be cornering enough on the street to cause oil loss from it sloshing to the side? I'm pretty good about checking and changing my oil and this engine doesnt leak or burn any.

It’s kinda moot, as it’s not recommended to change bearing in-Situ and keep going so you’ll find any mechanical issues on tear down

itll help if you tell us about the engine and it’s background

Engine was an oem rebuild that a local shop did back in 2012. The po was keeping the car close to stock. That car was hit and the engine went into my shell. I've had it on megasquirt since 2016 although it's still NA. Recently I've had some issues. I didnt tighten the crank bolt correctly after doing my timing belt and I had some play that was throwing my timing off and I couldn't figure out why for a while. I had to replace the woodruff key and once torqued correctly my timing seemed to be fine again. About 2 weeks after that is when I heard rod knock. All the bearings I pulled were 1.5mm thick except for the spun bearing was 1.3.
I know it's not great to just replace the bearings and I'm probably on borrowed time but I'm trying to get my hands on another m20 and build a stroker for next summer.

The other 5 looked fine. I changed all the bearings for king racing bearings. I measured them at 1.58mm thick. The bearings that came out were 1.54mm. Only cyl 5 had the worn bearing. The 2 halves had also stacked up.
