Wrist pin bushings tight after vinegar bath, solutions?

Hey guys, I picked up a set of Seta internals for my 2.7i and, as the title states, my wrist pin bushings are sticking after soaking the pistons in a salt/white vinegar bath to clean off surface rust. I wasn't happy with how they came out, so I sent them up to a machine shop to get cleaned and have the rods honed. They called me and told me I need new wrist pin bushings and want to charge me $200 for new ones, but I feel like their stickiness was probably caused by salt and gunk getting in there while cleaning and should thus be reversible (pistons moved freely before I attempted to clean them). Does anyone have any suggestions on what I should do other than take the pistons off and wipe the bushings down? Would like to avoid replacing them if at all possible. Thanks.

say what? pistons dont have bushes, rods have bushes and how does putting piston in acid affect the rod bushes? maybe you are talking about the wrist pins?

i have no idea what youre actually trying to say but surely they cleaned everything and found the clearances were off or soemthing was damaged in which case probably believe them

Sorry for the confusion, I mean the bushing that separates the rod and the wrist pin. They didn't take the pistons off the rods when honing the rods and cleaning everything, so I'm thinking there may be some gunk in there preventing the pistons from moving freely on the rod. Does that help clarify? Thanks

surely if there was gunk in there the machine shop would have simply dissambled and cleaned it out. i doubt they would hone the bigend with piston still attached. if they were tight the pin bush can be honed to

there is probably an actual reason why they say they need new bushes. i would ask the question why

I will talk to them about it, but from what I understand they never took the pistons off. Not really sure what's going on but hopefully I can get it sorted out. Thanks!
