Ok. So if i buy the 3.5 out of a 735i car. What transmission will bolt up to it. I want a 5-speed but someone told me that they only made automatic and if thats the case than no 3,5 for me. Let me know thanx.

the bell housing for the m30 was shared between the m10, m30b34, m30b35, m30b33, m30b33, m30b28, s14, and the list goes on

you can get a 5 speed from any of them, and even the 4 speed from my e12 will work.

your trans choice depends on what your looking for, there are close ratio trans, dogleg CR, regluar trans, the e30m3 CR trans and so on

i'm sure ian or someone else will pop in with all the 260/5 and 265 numbers stuff

this has been covered a ton and searching is your friend, your semi local so ill go easy on you ;)

Best choice for you would be getrag 260/5 (E28 535) or getrag 260/6 (E34 535). There should be plenty of those 4 sale quite cheap.

Or occasionally the Getrag 265. Just throwing that out there.

pretty much any manual transmission that came out of an M30 powered car is usable. Go to a junk yard and snag one there. Got mine for $75 (260/6)

pretty much any trans tat came off of any of the motors i listed above will work

Thanks i will keep my eye out for it in the junk yard when i get the engine.
