    super high idle

    ok here is my issue

i swapped an e32/e34 b35 harness onto my b34 i will be doing a write up later after i have everything worked out.

my problem is im idling super high. I was at 1500 and played with the tps to get it down to 1100. When i rev it comes back down very slowly but steadily slow. The idle is no erratic at any point. The harness did have auto tps and i swapped a manual plug on to connect to my manual tps. I now got a auto tps and im going to swap the plug back to see if this is the issue. I swapped the icv and both did the same thing.

    ANY THOUGHTS?

also my temp gauge is not working. I think its cause my cluster is motometer and the ecu and sensor are now vdo? So will a vdo gauge fix my problem? When the car is on the gauge gets a signal just doesnt read the temp after that.

    tia

I am using auto tps w/o any problems, and a few times when my idle went up to 1500rpm or so it was due to the hood of the car touching and bumping the TPS out of alignment with the TB. Few seconds of adjustement and it goes back to about 800rpm.

What temp sensor on the engine are you using for the cluster? VDO/Motometer doesn't matter. I've tried both and both kinds work. I am using my old m10 sensor with my cluster, as it's 2 pole. But others have used a single pin m20 sensor. You just can't use the m30 one.

ok i fixed my temp sensor issue and now my gauge works great. But i am still idleing at 1000 to 1500 rpms

im gonna to try to get another plug and wire the auto tps back and see if that helps

are there different icv's for the b35's?

as you already know, to check the TPS, you get continuity between pins 1 and 2 when there is 0 throttle, and no continuity when you break the circuit, partal throttle. You can already understand what the third pin does.....

the tps was the problem. I swapped back to the Auto TPS and it fixed everything. I idle at about 600 now
