Good for you Jean, thanks for posting it up!
Interesting thread. Haha. Too bad I forgot my password for my CC account and it is linked to my now defunct school email.

My E30 was 2900lbs stock... I mean, truly stock, not just "stock and I forgot to mention........."

I wonder what my car would weigh on his magic scales.

Yeah, the 325e weight is very light! So, that prompted me to weight my car sooner. I'll weight it again if you guys are thinking these scales are wrong once I get coilovers back on the car. I was present when the car was put on the scales etc, and these scales were recently serviced.

"Wikipedia lists the e30 between 2,359–3,016". I have a late 83 build 318, obviously it has lighter euro bumpers, us ellipsoids instead of sealed beams and no power sunroof/windows. No rear trunk spoiler if that matters much.

Which scale do you think would be more accurate?

I weighed my M3 on a truck scale down the street and it came up 2805 without driver, 3/8 tank, e28 M5 wheels, an e34 heavy ass battery and the rest 100% stock, including spare tire and jack.

Truck scales would be less accurate.

I had my 10/83 prod date 318i weighed @ road atlanta during Ofest. With battery in trunk, 1/2 tank of gas, euroweaves w/ 205/55/15s, IE sways but no disc conversion at that time, 2450lbs. That included a bucket of autoX and breakdown supplies in the trunk.

When I moved the battery into the trunk I made a battery tray out of titanium and mounted in the right rear of the trunk. I had to drill the oval hole up front for the cable to pass through the body. I noticed the weight transfer at the very next autoX.

I'm picking up an M20B25 conversion this week. So I'll be adding a few pounds to the 318i. Should be quick with the 4.10lsd.

Good info! So remove the bucket of autox etc stuff, remove the m10 drivetrain and add m30 drivetrain minus the spare tire/jack/ac compressor and the weight is about right.

It will be interesting to see where my M30 Cab comes out with the extra trunk weight, battery moved and a hardtop....

Did you add weight or did you just weigh it today?
