This is an updated picture of the engine bay on my e30 (see 1st post) before I sold it two years ago. You can see I fine tuned the intake setup slightly.
Yes - I know the bay looks like crap but we have to keep it that way for Lemons and Chumps. Yes - I know it's a b34 (had 4 laying around the shop) but what you don't see is a new fully ported head, b35 cam, complete engine rebuild, scraper/windage tray, Miller War Chip and MAF.
When the car was on the dyno we used the factory m20 air box after the 4 pull we finally saw the intake hose collapsing so we upped to a larger K/N cone - much better results.
The theme is Max Mad so that's why the blower scoop
Thanks Doughnut - since doing the swap, I managed to source a G260/5 with e28 single mass flywheel & 240mm clutch, so if the G240 eventually dies (or the clutch wears out) I'll go over to a more conventional setup. So far it has been all good.
Cheers for the contribution lukeADE335i, interesting flywheel/clutch and gearbox choice.
Be sure to chase the front cover for your spark plug wires (it does fit), I bought one new from the dealer for around $35! But I'm sure you can find one at your junk yard, just keep an eye out - really neatens the engine bay up!
n3nyongmini, you went with the auto huh?! Nice work with the e34 coolant bottle too!
Almost ready to start up for first time. It's a very low mileage m30b35 so I didn't mess with cleaning up any of the finishes. I like the aged aluminum.
