I see next to zero in the bays with headers on the m30s. What gives gents?
Not sure what conclusion others have come to, but for me.... They don't fit. Simple as that. The only offerings out there currently are Ireland engineering and shmiedmann (deff didn't spell that right.) Both are for E34s and they're basically the same. I have heard that bav auto long tubes will fit with slight modification and Treehouse racing lollipops. F3AR here on Rev, modified some M50 headers to fit on his car. I was going to have him make me a set but that ended up not working out. I have a set of used, really poor condition Sthal long tubes I got for $50, but I just couldn't get them to clear my mounts control arm bushing lollipops and firewall. They hit everything... I think if someone made some sub $300 headers, short or long tubes, specifically for M30 E30s, they'd sell like hotcakes. M30 swaps are very popular, for good reason. M30s are fkn awesome. It sucks cause I put some much effort into increasing engine output on my car but can't put headers on it. That's like the #1 performance mod for an NA engine... When I have the money, I'm going to cough up the $1000 (or more) to get a set of really nice custom long tubes made using my sthal's as a template.

Here's my high compression, 292 cammed B34 on chipped 1.3. Still need to tidy up a couple wires but its functional as is. Finially finished break-in and took it for a romp and Jesus lord its retarded fast. In my stripped out car+3.73 I really don't see why you would need any more power. My car has a fuel cell no abs, crank windows ect, probably weighs around 2400 max. If you're wondering if you should do an M30 swap, DO IT!
Thank you guys! I am actually thrilled with how the bay looks, so OEM+. I'm actually kind of sad to ditch the OEM IC, but it gets so heatsoaked there that it's acutally adding heat to be intake charge
The more I'm reading out air-to-water IC's the more I like them.
I've been doing lots of reading as well, and while they have very low pressure drops, I'm not sure the added complexity of 2 loops and a pump is worth it.
Too much stuff with w/a.
It seems like it' more for racecars changing water every pass.
I've heard similar things. Then again, nearly all OEMs (BMW, Merc, Audi, etc) are running water/air these days. It's nearly impossible to find air/air outside the Evo/WRX crowd, at least as far as OEM goes.
