I used the "beefy" mounts from e30tech (335.de clone). Quite happy, though I have a patina of surface rust now.

If I were to do it again I would use G&T because he supports the community more.

6 inches is a hell of alot fella. Do you still have the inlet manifold support on the engine, or did you remove it ?

oh yes im sure it wasnt upside down. if it was upside down you couldnt mount it. it would hit the engine. and it was the drivers side. it needed to be way further back twords the back of the car. plus there wasnt a hole for my dipstick. so i had to drill a fatty hole for the dipstick. i told him specifically 91 e30 89 m30. but he went ahead and sold me some other mounts probably a different swap. and knowing how much he knows wouldnt he know that it takes different mounts for certain years?

yes i do still have manifold support

That's where you went wrong then fella. You need the remove the support for the manifold and use the bottom foward hole for the mount as it sit's in a different place to the oe one..

Now that you have fabricated one that has the hole for the dip stick and fit's where the oe mount was, I would get some knocked up and start selling them, But run it for a few thousand miles and make sure it is strong enough.....

Old pic but will give you the right idea.
