how necessary is running e85 for 20psi? wouldn't lower compression allow pump gas?
    Anything can be done

I dont think its asking to much, a quality tune helps a lot. I haven't found e85 all that available to me so Im looking towards lower compression

Im pretty sure you can bump the timing a bit too.

You're better off running methanol, a road very well traveled at this point. Keep your higher CR for spool. G&T is running a B34, and a .140 MLS afaik, so he is probably in the 8s for CR. I have an M30B35 and plan on using a pressure switch (I have a coolingmist system) to start a 50/50 meth/water injection at around 1 bar.

I believe G&T was running 18+psi before he made the switch to E85. You could also use octane boosters, but E85 is cheaper due to subsidy.

The B34 has 8.1, using the stock thickness headgasket. I ran 14psi on the stock headgasket and ARP's, until a couple of boost spikes and it shit the bed.
Went with E85 and the stock thickness .070 MLS, running 20.5psi now and feel that it can take 25psi.
Should have new dyno results in a week or two.

I still not seeing the need for e85, plenty of other turbo cars run 20psi with out it. If the compression is correct and the tune is correct on top of forged internals I believe it would hold just fine.

With that said I do see the advantage just not the need

It does make more power with less boost, doesn't stink like gas either when it comes out the tail pipe, less prone to knock also, runs cooler.
There are many advantages of running E85, the only penalty is gas mileage.
I run it because there is a station within a mile from me, plus it's $2.49 a gallon.

good to know, what power do you think you would make on 20psi without it? Also any reason you are still running the factory intake manifold

Have you been able to make it back to the dyno after the pump fix?
