You don't need to do anything with that plug...ignore it.
Pin outs have been posted here many times....you do want to look at the ETM for YOUR specific model / year though.

I haven't done my swap yet but you could spend $10 and buy Franks CD or download and have your own trouble shooting guide...he can send it via email too...
I have it and it is a great guide...
worth everybit of $10....

I believe the transmission is out of an e28 535i (has the fins at the bottom)

By looking at the part numbers, there seems to be two different sized output shafts
in the m30 trans. Make sure you have the right size/year.
The larger m20 output flange uses the the same part number
the m30 trans in the e34 uses. So I'm guessing one could use the smaller flange going
by that if you have to e34 trans. But it's different for the e28 535i trans somehow.
What is the trans out of?Last edited by LowR3V'in; 03-25-2010, 11:04 PM.

can the yoke on the back of the tranny be interchanged and by yoke i mean the tripod on the back of the tranny that connects to the flex disc

ground wires, loose connections on the starter, alternator, and battery, main relay and connections, maybe ignition or neutral safety switch if you have one.
9/10 times it's something simple

Sorry if I'm too lazy too look, but if you're
running a 260 w/ an aluminum holder use the 535 linkage.
OR you can put the selector from the m20 onto the m30 trans
and use the 325 linkage.
The difference is the size of the peg/hole of the gear selector on the trany.

plus the motronic 1.3 looks better and runs better
im running the late harness on my b34 and its great
why has no one said anything about the doors...
and how did you plumb your brake booster? I couldnt see in the pictures
