OP - You're holding onto this notion of e-fan cooling problems; who have you heard about who's had a SPAL and cooling issues, even those with M42 radiators and S50s? You've got independent fan control, significantly less drag on the engine which is ALWAYS a good thing (IIRC the mechanical fan is equivalent to about a 6hp drag, but don't quote me on that), plus you don't have to dick around with major suspension components and you don't have to fuck up your steering geometry and bump steer/toe steer into a wall at stock ride height. Sounds like all evidence points towards the e-fan being doing it right.

And that's not Jean, he's just got Jean's ultra-handsome mug in his avatar. Don't worry, I've almost made the same mistake. Can't wait to see the outcome of your build.

You're looking at it the wrong way. It's my stubborness that will make the car. You'll see...

Yea it had a slim radiator that they manufactured for it.

The 333i had an electric fan and did have 3.3 on the block. But I'm not literally making an exact replica, I'm customizing it to my likes but modeled after the 333i, so certain things won't be the same.

And Jean that particular owner has the finest example of a 333i. It's awesome!

    How did they do it?

    ^Serious question.

I think it does. They used a custom radiator that was super thin IIRC.
