    m62 swap links?

any of you guys have any links to some M62 swap threads?

I picked up a 97 m62 that I was considering making a little project out of.

i have the fab skills and the tools (I think)

I am good with electrical work, I built the cage for our lemons car, and have rebuilt the motor in it, so I was thinking about grabbing a cheap roller and stuffing this M62 into it.

    so, links?

    Thanks in advance!

Make sure to refresh the motor, they are notorious for various leaks (valley cover being the big one).

i was going to do a complete motor gasket kit, along with rod and main bearings, and possibly new rings and head gaskets, just to make sure i don't have to pull it out again.

i need to finish stuffing the m30 in my green car, then sell it and start then next project...

All M60, M62 and S62 transmissions and flywheels are bolt-on. 5-speed and 6-speed boxes have different sized clutch-shafts.

you also need all the sensors and the front timing cover and trigger wheel as the m62 doesnt have the provission to hold the cps

                    good to know.
should i just buy the whole motor, take what i need and shit can the rest?

i also have a line on a 94 530 i can grab for a couple hundred dollars, but it's an auto....

maybe i should just dump the m62 into it and drive it....

                      I've 3.15 diff with 6-speed E39 M5 box, top speed ~299km/h so it'll rev around 2200rpm @ 100km/h..

Easiest would be to get manual 530 where you'd take all the little parts you'll need along with flywheel, gearbox etc..
Standard B30 clutch won't hold B40 torque btw, so you'll need to find suitable clutch for that.. B40 clutch won't fit because it has different sized shaft and is 265mm in diameter (B30 clutch is 240mm)..

doesn't the e34 have the m60, e39 has the m62. Not that it makes much a difference in terms of the physical swap.
