I do not want that s38 repair bill. I think it would be cheaper to just drive it into a lake and walk away when it takes a shit. And from the looks of that motor - it's not too far away?

You assume this because of a valve cover?

Sometimes i wonder. If we were all just hanging out in person, would you really say something like that? ;) It does look a little tired, but since he's given us no details on whats being added/replaced thats kind of crazy to say.

Engines in but not in it's final resting place.
Looking foward to seeing this car one day- keep us posted!

Watching with great interest!! I am doing the same swap in my spare time in a Japanese MtecII.

                      Few quick questions.
Do you need a spacer in the subframe to close the hood?
Using 265 or 280 transmission? What driveaxle??
Can you snap some pics of the firewall when its ready to be fitted?

Guys ends up the owner doesn't want the S38, he decided to do a S52 instead.
So this project is no more, sorry.

Too bad - I was looking forward to someone doing this. BTW - I didn't mean that as a slight to anyone. Who knows what's under that valve cover. Could be a rebuilt head!!!! OMG BBQ sauce! Or not.

I wanted to complete it also but it was more involved than the owner thought.
For one the intake manifold needed to be modified to clear the heater hoses, just cutting a portion of the bottom of it would have done the trick. Also smaller brake booster is needed.
                              Fire wall mods as well.

The engine is going into an M5.
