Try again. G260 is too broad of a question, there is an M20 G260 and M30. You can't use an M20 G260 as it simply won't bolt up.

Only if the 260 came out of an M30 can not an M20 car. They are different.

Edit: Jean beat me to it.

use the m10 tranny until it blows up if you can't find an m30 tranny...OR get the m30 g260 and swap the output flange. you can make an m20 tranny work too, but you'll need to design / make an adapter plate...

you can swap the output shaft on the tranny...but i would research or measure the small guibo vs large guibo driveshaft lengths...

You sure you can just bolt on the m20 flange?

I posted this in another thread.
To me, it doesn't look like you can just switch the m20 one over.

By looking at the part numbers, there seems to be two different sized output shafts
in the m30 trans. Make sure you have the right size/year.

The larger m20 output flange uses the the same part number
the m30 trans in the e34 uses. So I'm guessing one could use the smaller flange going
by that if you have to e34 trans. But it's different for the e28 535i trans somehow.

What is the trans out of?

what's the big deal with not wanting to get a drive shaft with the larger diameter flange?
