    Which front half driveshaft?

I'm going out to the junkyard today to pull a driveshaft for my e30 m30. Does it have to be off a 535i manual or can it be 535i/528e with manual/automatic? noobie would appreciate advice here. Thanks!

Depends on your engine mounts and transmission. In my case I used the front from an e28 and the rear from my e30. However due to using the g265 transmission my front half needed shortened by 2". What transmission are you using?

Sorry for the delayed response. I have the g260/5 and am in position two as well. Got my front portion of the driveshaft a couple weeks ago and had it fitted together to the rear portion e30 by a friend. Made a bracket extension for the center support bearing and everything fit up just fine! BTW, i have the e30.de mounts.

this issue appears to be solved by the old "trial and error" technique...since most people have different configurations...I´m not even bothering until the engine and tranny are mounted on the car, so I can measure stuff. Hope you find what you need trouble-free.

Gadea...what year is your e30? For the most part (from what I hear) you just need the same setup I've gone with and you should be worry free. But I guess it all depends on which mounts your using and the position you go with. Mine fits perfectly though and only cost me $65 for the front portion.
